Ligue 1: Fernández fires Lille to 1–0 win over Paris FC

Matías Fernández’s first-half penalty proved decisive as LOSC Lille secured a narrow 1–0 Ligue 1 victory away to Paris FC, a result that keeps the visitors firmly in the top four.

The breakthrough came in the 26th minute after Romain Perraud was brought down by Marshall Munetsi inside the box. Fernández stepped up and calmly slotted home from 12 yards to give Lille the lead.

After the break, Paris FC pushed for an equaliser, but Kevin Trapp produced a strong save to deny Benjamin André’s header in the 54th minute.

Lille then came close to doubling their advantage when Fernández struck the crossbar from open play in the 67th minute.

The hosts were handed a lifeline in the 72nd minute when a handball by Ngal Mukau led to a penalty, but Luca Koleosho failed to convert, hitting the post just two minutes later.

Lille’s goalkeeper Berke Özer then made a crucial close-range stop to preserve the lead.

Paris FC’s hopes faded further when they were reduced to 10 men in the 85th minute after a second booking for Lees-Melou.

Lille held firm in the closing stages to secure all three points, finishing with more possession and 10 attempts compared to Paris FC’s seven.
