Super Eagles forward, Umar Sadiq, made his mark off the bench with an assist, but it was not enough to prevent Valencia CF from suffering a 3-2 defeat against Celta Vigo at the Mestalla on Sunday.
Head coach Carlos Corberán started the Nigerian forward among the substitutes before introducing him in the 63rd minute in place of Hugo Duro.
Sadiq later set up Guido Rodríguez for Valencia’s second goal deep into stoppage time, but the late effort could not spark a comeback for the hosts.
The 28-year-old has now recorded one goal and one assist in 11 league appearances for Valencia this season.
Sadiq completed a permanent move to Valencia from Real Sociedad in January after spending the second half of the 2024/25 campaign on loan at the club.
