Krasnodar forward, Olakunle Olusegun, is beaming with joy after receiving his first-ever call-up to the Super Eagles.
The 23-year-old was a late addition to the squad by head coach Eric Chelle ahead of their international friendly against Russia.
His inclusion came as a result of injuries and personal issues that ruled out some regular players.
Olusegun had an impressive campaign with Russian Premier League side Krasnodar, playing a crucial role in their title-winning season.
He joined the national team’s training session on Tuesday night in Moscow, marking a significant milestone in his football journey.
A former Golden Eaglets standout, Olusegun described his Super Eagles invitation as the fulfilment of a lifelong ambition.
“What every player want is to play for their national team,” he told the Super Eagles media.
“So finding myself now in the Super Eagles, it’s a privilege, and it’s an honour for me because it’s not by my power or how I play.”
