The Katsina State Independent Electoral Commission has started the distribution of sensitive election materials across the 34 Local Government Areas in preparation for the upcoming local government elections.
KSIEC Chairman, Lawal Alhassan, explained that the distribution process is part of the commission’s efforts to ensure a smooth election.
The materials are being sent to hard-to-reach areas first to avoid delays and ensure early access on election day.
Alhassan assured the public that extensive arrangements have been made, in collaboration with security agencies, to ensure the safe and intact delivery of the materials to their designated locations. He also emphasized that the necessary preparations are in place for a smooth election process.
Additionally, the commission has recruited and trained over 20,000 ad-hoc staff who will participate in the election across all polling units in the state. Alhassan reiterated the commission’s commitment to conducting a fair, peaceful, and credible election in accordance with legal standards.
“I wish to let this all-important gathering know that, adequate arrangements were made by the commission and other security agencies to transport these materials to their respective destinations intact and safely.
“I equally want to inform you that all necessary arrangements were made for a hitch-free conduct of the exercise,” Alhassan noted.
