Kaduna begins confirmation exams for 3,000 newly recruited civil servants

The Kaduna State Government has commenced a confirmation examination for about 3,000 newly recruited civil servants as part of the process of securing their permanent appointments in the state public service.

The 2026 Computer-Assisted Confirmation examination is being held at the Information and Communication Technology Centre of Kaduna State University’s main campus.

The exercise is organised by the Office of the Head of Service in partnership with Kumesh Integrated Concept Ltd.

Speaking during a visit to the examination centre on Wednesday, the state Head of Service, Mrs Jummai Bako, described the exercise as an essential requirement for newly employed workers seeking confirmation of their appointments.

She explained that confirmation would grant eligible civil servants access to important employment benefits, including leave of absence, transfer of service and opportunities for further training while in service.

Bako said the examination was designed to assess candidates’ knowledge of areas relevant to their duties, covering administrative, financial, legal and medical subjects, alongside general issues concerning Kaduna State and Nigeria.

According to her, the questions have been divided into about five categories to accommodate different cadres and professional groups within the state civil service.

She disclosed that the examination involves workers across ministries, departments and the 23 local government areas of Kaduna State, while staff of tertiary institutions are not included in the exercise.

The Head of Service further stated that candidates who do not pass the examination would have another opportunity to sit for it in 2027.

Bako urged the candidates to take the exercise seriously, noting that successful confirmation would come with significant benefits attached to permanent employment in the state civil service.

She also commended Governor Uba Sani for providing funding for the examination and prioritising workers’ welfare through measures such as salary adjustments and timely payment of salaries.

She assured the governor that civil servants in the state would continue to support the implementation of government policies, describing them as a key component of effective governance.
