Illegal baby factory uncovered in Delta

The Nigerian Medical Association, Warri Zone, has exposed an illegal baby factory masquerading as a medical hospital along Orhuwhorun Road in Udu Local Government Area, Delta State.

Chairman of NMA Warri Zone, Dr. Djebah Bright, confirmed that the facility was uncovered during the association’s routine monitoring aimed at curbing medical quackery and shutting down unregistered health centers.

According to him, four babies were discovered inside the facility, which was being run by unqualified individuals.

“We were on our routine monthly monitoring in our zone for medical quacks and unregistered hospital facilities when we discovered this,” Dr. Bright explained.

He stated that the association promptly informed the police, leading to the arrest of the facility’s operator and one auxiliary nurse who was caring for the babies.

“The said owner of the illegal health facility was arrested alongside one of her auxiliary nurses,” he confirmed.

Dr. Bright added that the children had been moved to an orphanage in Asaba by the authorities for proper care.

“The babies are now at an undisclosed orphanage home in Asaba,” he said.
