Super Eagles forward, Victor Osimhen, has reaffirmed his ambition to represent Nigeria at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Nigeria missed out on the last World Cup held in Qatar, but the three-time African champions now have another shot at qualification through the playoffs scheduled to take place in Morocco next month.
The Super Eagles will battle Gabon, Cameroon, and the Democratic Republic of Congo after falling short of automatic qualification.
Eric Chelle’s men will open their playoff campaign against the Panthers of Gabon in the semi-final on Thursday, November 13.
Osimhen was instrumental in Nigeria’s progress to this stage, scoring a hat-trick in the team’s emphatic 4-0 victory over Benin Republic in Uyo earlier this month.
The Napoli striker expressed his determination to help the Super Eagles reach the global stage once again.
“I want to be in the World Cup with my country. I am giving my everything there too,” the 26-year-old told Sporx.
“My focus is here now (Galatasaray). Next month is the World Cup playoffs. I will help my teammates with my goals, assists and everything.”
