Ghana and Manchester City forward, Antoine Semenyo, has been named among eight nominees for the Premier League Player of the Season award for 2025/26.
The shortlist was released on Thursday via the Premier League’s official website, with Semenyo joined by several standout performers from across the division.
Arsenal trio Gabriel, David Raya and Declan Rice are also in contention following their influential roles in the Gunners’ title push.
They are joined by Manchester City striker Erling Haaland, Brentford forward Igor Thiago, Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes and Nottingham Forest midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White.
Fans have until 12:00 BST on Monday, 18 May, to cast their votes, which will be combined with the selections of a panel of football experts to determine the overall winner.
The result will be announced next week.
Highlighting Semenyo’s nomination, the Premier League praised his impact across the season, noting his contributions for two clubs.
“Semenyo played a starring role for two clubs this season, joining Manchester City in the January transfer window after a stunning start to 2025/26 at AFC Bournemouth,” the league said.
It added that the Black Stars forward made an instant impression at City, scoring three goals and providing one assist in five Premier League appearances in February, a run that earned him his first EA SPORTS Player of the Month award.
The league also praised his tactical versatility, highlighting his ability to operate across multiple attacking positions as he quickly integrated into Pep Guardiola’s side during their pursuit of the Premier League title.
