The Nigeria Immigration Service has announced the immediate disengagement of Online Integrated Solution (OIS Services) as the operator of Nigeria’s Visa Application and Submission Centres in the United States.
The development means that OIS Services will no longer collect or submit visa applications on behalf of Nigerian diplomatic missions in the US.
In a public notice issued on Wednesday, the NIS said the decision takes effect immediately and advised all affected applicants to use Nigeria’s diplomatic missions for visa processing until a new arrangement is announced.
“The Nigeria Immigration Service hereby informs the general public, particularly prospective travellers and Nigerians residing in the United States of America who may require a visa to enter Nigeria, that Online Integrated Solution (OIS Services) has officially been disengaged from the collection and submission of visa applications on behalf of the Nigerian Mission, effective immediately,” the service said.
The agency directed all visa applicants to submit their applications directly to Nigeria’s diplomatic missions in the United States.
“Accordingly, all applicants seeking Nigerian visas are required to submit their applications directly at the Embassy of Nigeria in Washington, D.C., or at the Consulates of Nigeria in New York and Atlanta until further notice,” the statement added.
The NIS did not disclose the reason for terminating the company’s services or indicate when a replacement visa application provider would be appointed.
The announcement affects prospective travellers and residents in the United States who require Nigerian visas, with applications now to be processed only through the Embassy of Nigeria in Washington, D.C., and the country’s Consulates in New York and Atlanta pending further directives from the Nigerian authorities.
