The Head of the Civil Service of the Federal Capital Territory, Mrs. Grace Adayilo, has died.
According to The PUNCH, Adayilo passed on in the early hours of Monday, September 1, 2025.
Her Special Assistant on Media, Anthony Odey, confirmed the development in a brief message to journalists.
“Yes, please,” Odey wrote in response to inquiries about her death, without providing further details.
President Bola Tinubu appointed Adayilo as the pioneer Head of Service of the FCT on October 6, 2024.
She made history as the first person to occupy the office and also as the first woman to do so.
Before her elevation, she served as Permanent Secretary in the Agriculture and Rural Development Secretariat.
As of the time of filing this report, neither her family nor the FCT Administration has issued an official statement regarding the circumstances of her death.
