EPL: West Ham thrash Wolves 4–0, drag Tottenham to relegation zone

West Ham United delivered a huge boost in their Premier League survival push on Friday night, cruising to a 4–0 victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers at the London Stadium.

The game was finely balanced in the first half, but Konstantinos Mavropanos broke the deadlock just before the interval with a well-taken header to give the Hammers a narrow advantage at the break.

However, the contest swung decisively after the restart. Valentin “Taty” Castellanos struck twice in the space of three minutes early in the second half, effectively putting the game beyond Wolves’ reach and sending the home crowd into celebration.

Mavropanos then capped a commanding individual display by completing his brace in the 83rd minute, sealing a comprehensive win for West Ham in front of their supporters.

The result lifts West Ham out of the bottom three and up to 17th place with 32 points, drawing level with Nottingham Forest in 16th and just a point behind Leeds United.

The victory also drags Tottenham Hotspur into the relegation zone.

For Wolves, the defeat is another major setback in their survival fight. They remain on 17 points, 15 points adrift of safety with only six matches left, meaning just 18 points are still available, leaving their hopes of escaping relegation hanging by a thread.
