Tottenham Hotspur extended their winless start to the Premier League season after being held to a 0-0 draw by Everton at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday.
The result means Spurs are still searching for their first goal of the campaign after four league matches, having failed to find the net in every game so far.
Roberto De Zerbi’s side started brightly but struggled to turn their early pressure into clear-cut opportunities, with Everton standing firm to frustrate the hosts.
Everton had chances to snatch all three points after the break, but Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and Brennan Johnson were unable to make the most of their opportunities as the visitors settled for a share of the points.
The draw leaves Tottenham 17th in the Premier League with two points, while Everton remain unbeaten after recording their third draw of the season.
Tottenham had entered the match following a goalless draw against Nottingham Forest last weekend, while their expensive summer recruitment has yet to produce the attacking impact expected.
Spurs made 10 signings during the transfer window and spent more than £380m on transfer fees, but their failure to score in their opening four matches has increased pressure on De Zerbi.
The final whistle was greeted by boos from sections of the home crowd as Tottenham’s frustrating start continued, while Everton left north London with another point.
