Ipswich Town secured a dramatic 3-2 victory over 10-man Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Saturday, extending their impressive start to the Premier League season.
Crystal Palace took the lead in the 14th minute when Anan Khalaili found the net after Daichi Kamada created the opening, with the effort taking a slight deflection off Leif Davis before beating the goalkeeper.
Ipswich responded eight minutes later as Emersonn levelled the scores with a header from Davis’ cross, despite Palace having controlled much of the early exchanges.
The visitors were handed a major advantage when Crystal Palace defender Axel Disasi was sent off for a dangerous challenge on Jack Clarke.
Ipswich capitalised just before half-time, with Davis heading in from Emersonn’s flick-on to put the visitors 2-1 ahead.
Palace refused to give up despite being a man down and restored parity in the 75th minute.
Jorgen Strand Larsen received the ball from Kamada inside the area, turned away from Issa Diop and fired into the bottom corner.
Ipswich, however, had the final say as substitute Zian Flemming struck in the 90th minute.
Davis’ header from Julio Enciso’s cross came back off the bar before Flemming reacted quickest to force the rebound home.
The victory gave Ipswich their second league win of the season, while suffered their third defeat in four Premier League matches.
