EPL: Fulham deepen Wolves’ woes after 3-0 win

Wolves’ miserable start to the Premier League season continued as they slumped to a 3-0 defeat against Fulham at Craven Cottage, leaving them rooted to the bottom of the table and still searching for their first league win of the campaign.

The pressure is now mounting on manager Vitor Pereira after his side extended their winless league run to 14 matches, their worst streak since 2012, when they went 15 without victory. With the team now eight points adrift of safety, Pereira faces an uphill battle to turn things around.

Fulham took the lead early on when a defensive mix-up between Hugo Bueno and Emmanuel Agbadou allowed Raul Jimenez to find Ryan Sessegnon, who calmly slotted past Sam Johnstone.

Wolves’ evening went from bad to worse when Agbadou, making a rare start, was sent off in the 36th minute for hauling down Josh King as the forward raced through on goal.

Referee John Brooks showed a straight red for denying an obvious goalscoring opportunity, a decision confirmed by VAR official Andy Madley after a brief review.

Despite Pereira introducing three substitutes at half-time in an attempt to spark a comeback, Fulham dominated the second half.

Harry Wilson curled in a superb strike just after the hour mark to double the advantage before Yerson Mosquera inadvertently turned the ball into his own net to complete Wolves’ misery.

For Fulham, the victory ended a four-match losing run in the league and lifted them up to 14th place, while Wolves’ survival hopes look increasingly bleak as their barren run drags on.
