EPL: Eze scores brace as Arsenal crush Tottenham 4-1

Eberechi Eze struck twice to torment Tottenham once more as Arsenal powered to a 4-1 victory in the north London derby, reopening a five-point cushion at the top of the Premier League table.

Questions had begun to surface around Mikel Arteta’s title credentials after back-to-back slip-ups against Brentford and Wolves.

But his side answered emphatically on enemy territory with a dominant display against their fiercest rivals.

Arsenal seized the initiative in a charged atmosphere when Eze fired them ahead in the 32nd minute.

Tottenham responded swiftly, however, as Randal Kolo Muani levelled just over two minutes later, netting the first goal of Igor Tudor’s interim reign.

The visitors took full control after the interval. Viktor Gyökeres restored Arsenal’s lead with a superb curling effort two minutes into the second half before Eze capitalised on more hesitant defending to grab his second of the afternoon, his fifth goal against Spurs since leaving Crystal Palace.

Gyökeres wrapped up an emphatic win in stoppage time with his second of the match, sealing derby bragging rights for Arsenal.

Tottenham, meanwhile, remain down in 16th place and hover just four points above the relegation zone after a sobering start under Tudor.
