Chelsea were held to a 2-2 draw by Premier League surprise package Hull City at Stamford Bridge on Saturday, as their inconsistent start under manager Xabi Alonso continued.
Morgan Rogers gave the Blues an early lead after seven minutes, but Hull responded strongly through Mohamed Belloumi, who scored twice in the space of six minutes to turn the game around.
Belloumi levelled in the 28th minute after defensive uncertainty between Malo Gusto and Jorrel Hato allowed the Algerian winger to fire past Chelsea goalkeeper Emiliano Martínez.
The visitors then completed the turnaround six minutes later when Martínez failed to properly deal with a corner, allowing Belloumi to strike again via a deflection and give Hull a 2-1 advantage at half-time.
Chelsea struggled to regain control after the break but eventually found an equaliser through João Pedro in the 66th minute.
Cole Palmer created the opening with a well-placed cross, which João Pedro converted to rescue a point for the hosts.
The result means Chelsea again dropped points after taking an early lead, while Hull continued to underline their impressive start to the Premier League campaign with another strong performance away from home.
