A fire ripped through a distribution centre in Ontario, California, United States, on Wednesday, at a facility leased by Kimberly-Clark and operated by logistics firm NFI Industries.
The company confirmed that no injuries were recorded, as all workers on site were safely evacuated.
It also stated that no Kimberly-Clark employees were present at the facility at the time of the incident and that its manufacturing assets were not affected.
Authorities have since arrested a suspect in connection with the fire. While officials have not yet confirmed the motive, investigations are ongoing and the Ontario Police Department has been asked to handle further inquiries.
Kimberly-Clark thanked emergency responders for their swift response in containing the blaze.
The company said it has activated its crisis response and supply chain continuity plans, including alternative warehousing and logistics arrangements to minimise disruption to customers.
It also confirmed that insurance coverage for both property damage and business interruption is in place.
Meanwhile, reports revealed that the disgruntled worker allegedly recorded the moment the fire started.
However, authorities have not confirmed these claims.
“Kimberly-Clark’s supply chain network is designed for continuity during disruptions, and mitigating actions are already in motion,” the company said.
Further updates are expected in its next quarterly business report scheduled for April 28.
