Customs fixes October 9 for online recruitment exam

The Nigeria Customs Service has scheduled Thursday, October 9, 2025, as the date for its main online recruitment examination for shortlisted candidates in the Inspectorate and Customs Assistant cadres.

This was announced in a public notice released by the service on Tuesday through its verified online platforms.

According to the NCS, the examination will be conducted in three batches — A, B, and C — and candidates are required to log in with their National Identification Number on the official recruitment portal, https://updates.customs.gov.ng, to check their respective batch, date, and time of examination.

“The Main Online Recruitment Examination for all shortlisted Inspectorate and Customs Assistant Cadre applicants has been scheduled for Thursday, 9th October 2025,” the statement confirmed.

The Service emphasized that strict adherence to the assigned batch and time is compulsory, warning that failure to comply may result in disqualification.

“Candidates must strictly adhere to their allotted batch and time. Any attempt to join a different session or disregard instructions may lead to automatic disqualification,” the notice added.

The NCS further cautioned applicants against using calculators, mobile phones, or other electronic devices during the exam, noting that such actions would not be tolerated.

“Candidates are strongly advised not to use calculators, mobile phones, or any unauthorized gadgets during the examination,” the statement read.

Additionally, the Service warned that multiple logins or switching between browser windows could disrupt participation and affect a candidate’s results.

The notice also clarified that the ongoing recruitment stage is exclusively for the Inspectorate and Customs Assistant cadres, while applicants in the Superintendent cadre will take their exams at a later date.

“Only Inspectorate and Customs Assistant Cadre applicants are to take part in this phase. Superintendent Cadre applicants are not to participate at this stage,” the NCS stated.

The Service reiterated its commitment to transparency and fairness in the recruitment process, assuring all applicants of equal opportunity.
