Army warns against fake DSSC 2026 recruitment advertisement

The Nigerian Army has alerted the public to a fraudulent recruitment advertisement circulating on social media and other online platforms, falsely claiming that the “Nigerian Army Direct Short Service Course (DSSC) 29 Application Form 2026” is available.

In a statement released on Friday, the Army clarified that no such advertisement was authorized and urged the public to disregard the information.

“The Nigerian Army has not commenced any recruitment or commissioning exercise for the Direct Short Service Commission or Short Service Commission at this time.

The circulation of this advertisement is false, misleading, and did not emanate from any authorized channels,” the statement said.

The Army further emphasized that all official recruitment exercises will be communicated through verified channels, including the Nigerian Army website, official social media accounts, national newspapers, and other credible outlets, ensuring adequate publicity.

“Members of the public are strongly advised to remain vigilant and avoid falling victim to fraudsters who exploit fake recruitment notices to deceive and defraud unsuspecting individuals.

The Nigerian Army does not charge any fee for recruitment into its ranks,” the statement added.

The Army also encouraged anyone with information about such fraudulent activities or individuals involved to promptly report to the nearest security agency or relevant authorities for necessary action.
