Coppa Italia: Inter sink Como 3-2, book final spot

Inter Milan staged a dramatic late comeback to keep their Coppa Italia dream alive, overturning a two-goal deficit to beat Como 3-2 on Tuesday and book a place in the final.

The hosts looked to be heading out after Como stormed into a commanding lead at the San Siro.

Martin Baturina opened the scoring in the 32nd minute, finishing off a well-worked move, before captain Lucas da Cunha doubled the advantage shortly after the restart with a composed strike into the bottom corner.

Inter struggled to respond for long periods, but the momentum shifted after the introduction of Petar Sucic just past the hour mark.

The substitute proved decisive, first helping spark the comeback as Hakan Calhanoglu pulled one back with a deflected effort from distance.

As the game edged towards its conclusion, Sucic’s influence grew. He delivered a pinpoint cross that Calhanoglu powered home for the equaliser in the 86th minute, completing his brace and dragging Inter level.

Moments later, Sucic capped a stunning cameo by combining once more with Calhanoglu before calmly slotting home in the 89th minute to complete the turnaround and send the home crowd into celebration.

Despite Como’s impressive display, which saw them create several chances and even edge the expected goals battle, they were left to rue missed opportunities after coming so close to a historic first Coppa Italia final.

For Inter, the victory marks a return to the final for the first time since their 2022–23 triumph, with either Atalanta or Lazio awaiting them as they chase a 10th title.
