Arsenal’s Dowman makes history as youngest EPL title winner

Teenage sensation, Max Dowman, has etched his name into Premier League history after becoming the youngest player ever to win the English top-flight title with Arsenal FC.

The 16-year-old achieved the feat after Arsenal were officially crowned Premier League champions for the first time in 22 years following Manchester City’s draw against AFC Bournemouth on Tuesday.

Dowman’s latest milestone adds to an extraordinary breakthrough campaign for the highly rated midfielder, who has shattered several age-related records this season.

Back in August 2025, he became the youngest player to feature in Premier League history after making his debut at just 15 years and 235 days old.

Months later, in November, he also entered the record books as the youngest player ever to appear in the UEFA Champions League at 15 years and 308 days.

His rapid rise continued in March when he scored in Arsenal’s 2-0 victory over Everton FC, becoming the youngest goalscorer in Premier League history at 16 years and 73 days old.

Dowman is set to receive an official winners’ medal after reaching the required five league appearances during Arsenal’s title-winning season.

By the end of the campaign, he will be 16 years and 144 days old, comfortably breaking the previous record held by Phil Foden, who won the league with Manchester City in the 2017-18 season aged 17 years and 350 days.

The youngster’s emergence has been one of the standout stories of the English football season, with many already tipping him for a major future at both club and international level.

Dowman now joins an exclusive group of teenage Premier League champions that includes former Arsenal players Nicolas Anelka and Gaël Clichy.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has managed the teenager’s development cautiously, introducing him gradually into the senior squad, with all five of his league appearances coming from the bench.

Even at such a young age, Dowman has impressed with his calmness, technical brilliance and maturity, quickly establishing himself as one of Europe’s most exciting young prospects.
