Italian football legend, Marco Materazzi, has expressed that Arsenal will need a fair share of luck if they are to achieve a historic treble this season.
On Sunday, Manchester City claimed the first major trophy of the season, defeating Arsenal in the Carabao Cup final and ending the Gunners’ hopes of a quadruple.
In an interview with Hajper, Materazzi said Arsenal have the potential to win the treble but stressed that luck, focus, and flawless performances will be essential to cope with the mounting pressure.
“I think Arsenal are a very good team. They play very well. But their manager was the right-hand man of Pep Guardiola, so Pep knows him best. He knows everything about Mikel Arteta so he knows how to stop them.
“Arsenal will run for the title. I saw them play against Inter. They played very well. They are just a little bit young. They do not have the experience, but I think they have the opportunity to win, and I think they can win the treble.
“How can Arsenal win the treble? You have to be lucky. You have to be focused. You must stay fit because each game from now until the end of the season is a final. You have to be perfect in any game.”
