The National Working Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Tuesday held a closed-door meeting with governors elected on the party’s platform as preparations intensify for forthcoming congresses and the party’s National Convention.
The meeting took place at the Imo State Governor’s Lodge in Asokoro, Abuja, and is understood to be part of ongoing consultations by the party leadership ahead of the March 2026 National Convention.
Leading the NWC delegation was the party’s National Chairman, Professor Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda. Governors present at the meeting were drawn from the Progressive Governors’ Forum (PGF), led by its chairman and Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma.
Also in attendance were Governors Caleb Mutfwang (Plateau), Uba Sani (Kaduna), Mohammed Idris (Kebbi), Francis Nwifuru (Ebonyi), Ahmad Aliyu (Sokoto), Ahmed Usman Ododo (Kogi), Hyacinth Alia (Benue), Agbu Kefas (Taraba), Umo Eno (Akwa Ibom), Lucky Aiyedatiwa (Ondo) and Babajide Sanwo-Olu (Lagos), among others.
Although details of the agenda were not officially disclosed, party sources said discussions are expected to focus on the ongoing electronic membership registration exercise, as well as plans for ward and local government congresses.
National and internal party issues were also said to be part of the deliberations, as the APC fine-tunes its strategy ahead of key organisational activities in the coming months.
