A prominent Peoples Democratic Party chieftain, Uche Rochas, has lambasted the All Progressive Congress for condemning peaceful protests, despite using the same platform to gain power.
Rochas accused APC members of being manipulators, stating that they have demonized the very platform they utilized to ascend to power, according to Politics Nigeria.
He also declared that the planned August 1st protest has already failed, suggesting that the leaders of the protest are more focused on the 2027 elections than addressing the current economic hardships and insecurity.
Rochas’ comments come amid growing tensions and plans for a nationwide protest against the rising cost of living and economic challenges in Nigeria, scheduled to take place from August 1 to 15.
His words: ”In our very own eyes, APC has demonized peaceful protests, the platform they used to snatch power. These guys are manipulators.
”However, those who are supposed to lead the peaceful protest are chilling waiting for 2027. The planned protest failed already.”
