APC extends deadline for sale, submission of nomination forms

The All Progressives Congress has announced an extension of the deadline for the sale and submission of nomination forms ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The party’s Deputy National Publicity Secretary, Duro Meseko, disclosed this while briefing journalists in Abuja after a meeting of the National Working Committee on Thursday.

According to him, the sale of Expression of Interest and Nomination forms, which was initially scheduled to close earlier, will now end at midnight on Monday, May 4, 2026.

He also revealed that the deadline for submission of completed forms has been shifted to midnight on Tuesday, May 5, 2026.

Meseko explained that the decision followed appeals from prospective aspirants who were affected by the public holiday.

“The sales of nomination and expression of interest forms for offices under the APC have now been extended till midnight Monday, 4th of May, 2026,” he said.

He added, “Submission, which was earlier fixed for Saturday, has now been moved to midnight of Tuesday, 5th of May, 2026, to give all aspirants adequate time.”

The APC had earlier released its timetable for the 2027 elections, with the sale of forms originally slated to begin in late April and end in early May. However, the process started later than planned, prompting the adjustment.

Despite the changes, Meseko noted that other scheduled activities remain unchanged, including the screening of aspirants.

“Screening will commence on Wednesday, 6th of May, 2026, for all categories of offices, while other timelines remain intact,” he stated.

Meanwhile, political stakeholders from Taraba State have obtained nomination forms for Governor Agbu Kefas, signaling support for his second-term ambition.

Speaking on behalf of the delegation, Senator Haruna Manu said the move reflects broad consensus among party leaders in the state.
