Nollywood actress Angela Okorie has issued a public apology to fellow actress Mercy Johnson and Senator Ned Nwoko following her recent social media outbursts.
In a reflective Instagram post, Angela acknowledged her past actions and expressed remorse for any pain her words may have caused.
Describing the last few days as a period of “deep reflection,” Angela admitted that her emotional reactions, particularly when hurt, often lead her to speak without filtering her words. She conceded that this tendency has unintentionally caused harm.
Addressing Mercy Johnson directly, Angela offered a heartfelt apology and emphasized the importance of Mercy’s well-being. She said she now understands the weight of her comments and the unintended consequences they carried.
“I feel so sorry having realized how this gets to you, Mercy. Your mental health is very important now and ever & I wouldn’t wish you and your family worse, that’s not my nature, and you know it. Do find a place in your heart to forgive me,” she wrote.
Angela also extended her apology to Senator Ned Nwoko, explaining that her comments stemmed from a place of anger in response to what she described as “unprovoked attacks.” She admitted her reaction was inappropriate and not representative of her true intentions.
“Furthermore, my sincere apology also goes to Senator Ned Nwoko. I understand that my anger in trying to make a reply didn’t find you in a good state. It was as a reaction to an unprovoked bashing and attack that was blown out of proportion. I truly reacted in a way I now recognize wasn’t pleasant,” she added.
Looking ahead to her 40th birthday, Angela shared that she is committed to handling situations with greater maturity and wisdom, noting the importance of setting a positive example for the next generation.
“In addition, my 40th birthday is close by, and as I attain this 4th floor, I am committed to reacting to situations better with greater wisdom. Our children are growing up quickly, and we must set a better example,” she stated.
Angela’s apology follows a series of controversial posts in which she accused Mercy Johnson of alleged witchcraft, disrupting homes, and faking weight loss. She also lashed out at Ned Nwoko while responding to Regina Daniels, who had defended Mercy and accused Angela of previously showing interest in her husband.
