All 20 players invited to represent Nigeria’s Super Eagles in the upcoming international friendly against Russia have now joined camp.
This update was confirmed by the team’s media officer, Promise Efoghe.
Efoghe revealed that Bruno Onyemaechi was the final player to report to camp, having missed Tuesday’s training session due to visa issues.
“Bruno Onyemaechi was the last player to arrive after missing Tuesday’s training due to delay in visa,” Efoghe stated.
Among those already in camp are William Troost-Ekong, Victor Boniface, Bright Osayi-Samuel, Amas Obasogie, Fisayo Dele-Bashiru, and Raphael Onyedika.
The six players were not part of the squad that won the Unity Cup, a four-nation tournament held in London.
This encounter marks a historic moment as it will be the first-ever senior men’s match between Nigeria and Russia. Previous meetings have only occurred at youth levels, specifically in the U-20 and U-17 FIFA World Cups.
