Nollywood actress, Chita Agwu, has announced the end of her 11-year marriage to her husband, Johnson Maduabuchi, following its legal dissolution by a court.
The actress made the announcement in a statement posted on her Instagram page on Monday, informing the public that the marriage had officially ended.
“After much thought and a journey that has been deeply personal, I wish to officially inform the public that my marriage has been legally dissolved by the court,” she stated.
Agwu described the development as the conclusion of an important chapter in her life, expressing her readiness to begin a new phase with peace, grace and dignity.
The actress acknowledged that some marriages do not turn out as expected, noting that people should be allowed to move on with their lives without facing public criticism, ridicule or humiliation.
She also made it clear that she would not disclose the circumstances surrounding the separation, citing the need to respect the privacy of everyone involved.
“Out of respect for everyone involved, I will not be sharing private details or engaging in public discussions about the circumstances surrounding my divorce,” she said.
Agwu further appealed to the public to respect both her privacy and that of her former husband as they navigate life after the separation.
Expressing appreciation to those who had supported her, the actress said she was focusing on healing and personal development as she prepares for the next chapter of her life.
“My marriage has ended, but my life continues. I move forward with my head held high, my dignity intact, and my heart open to the future,” she added.
The announcement formally marks the end of the couple’s 11-year marriage.
