The Minister of Works, David Umahi, has announced that the Federal Government plans to complete the Kaduna-Kastina-Kano highway project by next year.
This announcement was made during a visit by Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani to the Minister’s office in Abuja on Tuesday.
Umahi hinted that the project is part of the Renewed Hope Agenda’s focus on revitalizing the country’s economy through robust road infrastructure, according to The Nation.
He stated that President Bola Tinubu has instructed him to develop a program aimed at completing the project within the next year.
The Minister noted that the ongoing project was inherited from the previous administration and is being executed in three sections.
The first section, spanning 38 kilometers, will be handled by Dangote Group of Companies under the Tax Credit scheme and will feature concrete construction.
The second section, covering 82 kilometers, will be handled by Julius Berger, while the final 20 kilometers will be handled by BUA and will also feature concrete construction.
The completion of the Kaduna-Kastina-Kano highway project is expected to significantly boost the country’s economy by enhancing road infrastructure and facilitating transportation.
The Federal Government is committed to expediting the project’s completion, and the Minister’s announcement is a testament to this commitment.
In a statement yesterday in Abuja by his Special Adviser on Media, Uchenna Orji, the minister said the ongoing project was inherited from the past administration.
“We are going to have the first section of 38 kilometres by two (which is 76 kilometres) done by Dangote Group of Companies on Tax Credit and it’s going to use concrete to do it.
