Tottenham condemn Burnley to relegation with 2-1 victory

1 Min Read

Burnley’s fate was sealed as they succumbed to a 2-1 defeat against Tottenham Hotspur, leading to their relegation from the Premier League.

Despite taking the lead with a goal from Jacob Bruun Larsen, Burnley’s hopes were dashed as Pedro Porro and a late winner from Mickey van de Ven secured the win for Spurs.

With this loss, Burnley will be playing in the Championship next season, while Spurs keep their top-four aspirations alive, albeit reliant on Aston Villa slipping up in their remaining fixtures.

Defender Mickey van de Ven sealed the victory for Ange Postecoglou’s side with a composed finish, confirming Burnley’s relegation to the Championship.

Spurs, on the other hand, are still in the running for a UEFA Champions League spot next season. However, their fate depends on Aston Villa dropping points in their remaining matches.
