Ikeja Electric has apologised to customers on some of its Band A feeders after failing to meet the minimum daily electricity supply requirement of 20 hours on November 3 and 4, 2026.
The electricity distribution company announced this in a statement shared on its official X account on Thursday, expressing regret over the service shortfall experienced by affected customers.
“We apologise for falling short of the expected minimum service level of 20 hours on the Band A feeders below for November 3rd and 4th, 2026,” the company stated.
Under Nigeria’s service-based electricity tariff structure, customers on Band A feeders are expected to receive at least 20 hours of electricity supply daily.
However, Ikeja Electric did not identify the specific feeders affected or explain the reasons for the disruption in its announcement.
The latest apology comes amid concerns over inconsistent electricity supply to customers classified under the premium Band A category.
In a separate public safety advisory, the company also cautioned residents against trading, constructing buildings or erecting structures beneath or close to electricity transmission lines.
It warned that such activities could expose individuals and communities to serious risks, stressing that power line corridors are dangerous areas requiring adequate safety clearance.
“Stay clear. Stay safe. Your life matters!” the company advised.
Ikeja Electric urged members of the public to observe safety guidelines around electricity infrastructure and use its designated communication channels for enquiries and further safety information.
