American boxer and social media influencer, Jake Paul, has announced his return to the ring on December 24 in Dubai, nearly a year after suffering a knockout defeat to former world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua.

The 29-year-old confirmed his comeback on Thursday, revealing plans to headline a boxing event on Christmas Eve.

However, his opponent for the fight has yet to be announced.

Paul has been out of action since Joshua knocked him out in the sixth round of their heavyweight contest in Miami on December 19, 2025.

The defeat left him with a fractured jaw, requiring multiple surgeries.

Announcing his return in a post on X, Paul said the loss had not diminished his confidence or determination to continue his boxing career.

“All I want for Christmas Eve is boxing in Dubai. I’ve spent years proving people wrong, taking risks, and pushing myself against opponents nobody thought I’d face. Nothing that’s happened has changed my belief in myself or what I’m working toward.

“I’m hungrier than ever, and on Thursday, December 24, I’m returning to the ring in Dubai to start the next chapter of my journey,” he said.

The American also disclosed that several potential opponents were being considered, although no agreement had been confirmed.

“We’ve got plenty of names on the list; let’s see who signs the contract. Merry Christmas, Dubai. Santa Paul is coming to town, and somebody’s getting knocked out,” he said.

His promotional company, Most Valuable Promotions, said further information about the event, including the identity of his opponent, would be released in the coming weeks.

Paul has recorded 12 victories and two defeats in his professional boxing career.
