Inter Milan fought back from two goals down to earn a 2-2 draw against Roma in Saturday’s Serie A clash at the Stadio Olimpico.
Roma took control early, with Manu Koné opening the scoring in the sixth minute.
The midfielder found space inside the box before firing past Inter goalkeeper Josep Martinez to give the hosts the lead.
Inter struggled to contain Roma’s attacking pressure and were punished again in the 36th minute.
Koné completed his brace after Roma worked the ball into the area, with the goal eventually awarded following a VAR review after it was initially ruled out for offside.
Inter responded immediately after the restart and pulled one goal back in the 47th minute.
Marcus Thuram won possession and broke forward before setting up Lautaro Martinez, who finished across goal to reduce the deficit.
The visitors continued to press for an equaliser and came close on several occasions, with Roma goalkeeper Mile Svilar producing important saves.
Thuram also saw an effort go narrowly wide, while Lautaro headed against the crossbar from close range.
Inter eventually got their reward in the 80th minute when a cross from the left reached Yann Bisseck, whose touch inadvertently set up Lautaro.
The Argentine striker made no mistake, guiding the ball into the corner despite Svilar getting a hand to it.
Neither side could find a winner in the closing stages as the points were shared.
The 2-2 draw leaves Roma and Inter level at the top of the Serie A table after the fifth round.
