Arsenal defender, Ben White, missed training ahead of Tuesday’s Carabao Cup clash with Ipswich Town, raising doubts over his availability for the encounter at Portman Road.
White started Arsenal’s 2-0 Premier League victory over Sunderland at the weekend but was substituted at half-time after appearing to struggle with a groin problem.
Jurrien Timber replaced him for the second half.
The England international has featured in all six of Arsenal’s matches this season, including their Community Shield victory over Manchester City, but his latest setback could force manager Mikel Arteta to consider changes to his defence against Ipswich.
Arsenal have not provided a detailed update on White’s condition, leaving his participation in Tuesday’s fixture uncertain.
Should the injury prove serious, the defender could also face a race against time to return before the upcoming international break.
Arteta could, however, have another defensive option available, with Cristhian Mosquera making progress after being sidelined since suffering an injury against Aston Villa on August 31.
Speaking about Mosquera’s recovery, Arteta said, “He’s doing really well. Let’s see if he can get this game or the next one. It will be around that time I think.”
White’s absence would leave Arsenal with limited options at right-back, although Timber’s return provides some cover.
Mosquera could also strengthen Arteta’s defensive choices if he recovers in time for the Ipswich encounter.
