Bournemouth were denied their first Premier League victory of the season after Brentford fought back to secure a 2-2 draw at the Vitality Stadium on Saturday.
Brentford took the lead in the 34th minute when Kevin Schade found the net, but Bournemouth responded through Justin Kluivert, who levelled the score four minutes before half-time.
The hosts then completed the turnaround seven minutes into the second half as Marcus Tavernier put Bournemouth ahead and appeared to have put Marco Rose’s side on course for their first league win under the German coach.
However, Schade struck again in the 56th minute to restore parity and complete his brace.
The Brentford forward capitalised on a poor pass from Bournemouth goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic before sending the ball into an unguarded net.
Bournemouth had further opportunities to regain the lead, but António Silva and Rayan were unable to convert their chances, while substitute Ben Gannon-Doak struck the woodwork during stoppage time.
The result means Bournemouth remain without a win after four league matches under Rose, having collected three points.
Brentford, meanwhile, moved to six points after extending their unbeaten start with a third successive draw.
It was also the fourth consecutive league match since Rose’s appointment in which Bournemouth dropped points after taking the lead.
