Super Eagles forward, Paul Onuachu, was on target twice as Trabzonspor secured a commanding 5-0 victory over Gençlerbirliği in their Turkish Süper Lig clash at Papara Park.
Onuachu needed just five minutes to open the scoring for the hosts before Mohamed Salah converted a penalty in the 14th minute to double Trabzonspor’s advantage.
The Nigerian striker struck again in the 22nd minute, completing his brace and putting Trabzonspor 3-0 ahead before the break.
Trabzonspor continued their dominance after the interval, with Ernest Muçi adding a fourth goal shortly before the hour mark after receiving an assist from Salah.
Franculino then completed the rout 10 minutes from full-time as Trabzonspor wrapped up an emphatic 5-0 win.
The victory lifted Trabzonspor to seven points and fourth position in the Süper Lig standings, three points behind leaders Galatasaray.
Trabzonspor will next travel to face Konyaspor on September 12 before hosting Galatasaray at Papara Park on September 19.
Gençlerbirliği, meanwhile, will aim to recover from the heavy defeat when they welcome Kasımpaşa on September 13.
