Strasbourg produced a dominant attacking display to beat newly promoted Troyes 6-2 away from home in Ligue 1 on Sunday, with English winger Sam Amo-Ameyaw scoring twice late in the game.
Troyes made a bright start and took the lead in the ninth minute through Antoine Mille, but Strasbourg responded before half-time when summer signing Jacobo Ortega converted from close range to level the score.
The visitors took control after the break, capitalising on their chances to turn the match into a rout.
New arrivals Diogo Sousa and Giovanni Reyna both found the net, while loan signing Conrad Harder also scored as Strasbourg pulled away from their hosts.
Amo-Ameyaw, who joined Strasbourg from Southampton and is in his second season with the club, completed the emphatic victory with two goals in the closing stages, striking in the 85th and 88th minutes.
The 20-year-old’s late double capped a memorable performance for Strasbourg, who will face league leaders Monaco in their next Ligue 1 fixture.
Troyes, meanwhile, suffered their first defeat after opening their campaign with a win and a draw.
