Everton snatched a dramatic 1-1 draw against Bournemouth on Saturday after James Tarkowski struck deep into stoppage time at the Vitality Stadium.
Bournemouth appeared on course for their first Premier League victory under new manager Marco Rose after Alex Scott put the hosts ahead in the 41st minute.
The Cherries held onto their advantage for most of the second half and came close to sealing all three points, but Evanilson missed a crucial opportunity that could have put the result beyond Everton’s reach.
Everton, meanwhile, continued to push for an equaliser, with Thierno Barry also guilty of wasting several chances in front of goal.
Their persistence finally paid off in the 91st minute when Tarkowski reacted quickest after a defensive mix-up between Ryan Christie and Marcus Tavernier following a corner.
The Everton defender drilled the ball into the net to rescue a point for David Moyes’ side.
The result leaves Bournemouth still searching for Rose’s first Premier League win as manager, while Everton will be relieved to have escaped with a share of the spoils after conceding first.
