Hamburg reach agreement to sign Super Eagles’ Moffi from Nice

OGC Nice have reached an agreement with Bundesliga side Hamburg over the transfer of Nigerian striker Terem Moffi.

According to French publication Nice-Matin, Nice have accepted Hamburg’s offer for the 27-year-old forward, although the value of the deal has not been revealed.

Hamburg had identified Moffi as a target for several weeks as the German club sought to bolster its attacking options.

The next step will be for the Bundesliga side to agree personal terms with the Nigeria international before the transfer can be completed.

Moffi spent the second half of last season on loan at Portuguese champions FC Porto, making nine league appearances and scoring once.

Porto decided against making the move permanent after Nice maintained their €8m valuation of the striker.

Moffi originally joined Nice on loan from Lorient in January 2023 before the French club completed his permanent signing later that year.

His time at Nice last season proved difficult. The striker and some of his teammates were attacked by supporters after arriving from an away game against his former club Lorient, which ended in a 3-1 defeat in November.
Following the incident, Moffi was placed on sick leave for a week before moving to Porto on loan.

Despite his struggles, the forward has scored 24 goals in 72 appearances across all competitions for Nice.
