Hamburg director Costa backs Moffi to shine in Bundesliga

Hamburg sporting, director, Claus Costa has backed Nigerian striker Terem Moffi to make a strong impression in the Bundesliga following his permanent transfer to the German club from Ligue 1 side OGC Nice.

Moffi completed his move to Hamburg on Monday as the club strengthened its attacking options ahead of the new Bundesliga season.

Costa believes the 27-year-old possesses the physical attributes, determination and finishing ability needed to trouble defenders in Germany’s top flight.

Terem is a striker who is difficult to contain due to his physicality, determination, and playing style,” Costa told Hamburg’s website.

The Hamburg director also highlighted Moffi’s versatility, noting that the Nigerian can exploit spaces behind defensive lines while also playing effectively with his back to goal.

“He is capable of making runs in behind the defense, has a tremendous presence in the penalty area, and possesses the necessary quality with his back to goal,” he added.

Costa expects Moffi’s arrival to give Hamburg greater attacking flexibility and provide additional firepower throughout the campaign.
