Portable alleges Okocha bit him during celebrity boxing rematch

Music artiste Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has explained why he walked out of the ring during his celebrity boxing rematch against Nollywood actor Charles Okocha, alleging that he was bitten and unfairly attacked during the contest.

Speaking in a video shared on his Instagram page after the fight, Portable claimed the bout turned into a wrestling contest rather than a boxing match, insisting that Okocha violated the rules.

Displaying marks on his back and body, the singer alleged that his opponent bit him during the encounter.

“He bit me. He choked my neck. That’s why I said I don’t want to fight again. I’m bigger than the money. I’m a star,” Portable said.

The singer maintained that he was in control of the fight before the incident occurred.

“I beat him. One man is stronger than another. I landed a heavy blow on him,” he said.

Portable also told his supporters that he had planned to finish the fight quickly.

“I wore a one-round outfit because I wanted to beat him in one round. I promised to give him 10 blows, and I did,” he added.

The celebrity boxing match, tagged “Unfinished Business,” was staged on Friday at the Balmoral Convention Centre in Victoria Island, Lagos, as a rematch following their controversial first meeting.

The contest became chaotic after both fighters engaged in a prolonged clinch that resembled wrestling, forcing the referee and security personnel to intervene.

Portable initially left the ring before the end of the opening round.

Although he later returned, officials ruled that he had abandoned the contest and subsequently disqualified him, handing victory to Charles Okocha.

The defeat reversed the outcome of their first encounter, which Portable had won amid controversy, after Okocha questioned the result. Before the rematch, Portable had expressed confidence in retaining his superiority over the actor.
