Bayern Munich winger, Michael Olise, has reportedly told his France teammates that he hopes to complete a move to Real Madrid next season, despite the Bundesliga champions’ determination to keep him.
French outlet L’Équipe reported on Thursday that the 24-year-old revealed his transfer ambition during the FIFA World Cup.
The report said Real Madrid are already aware of Olise’s desire and are expected to begin discussions after the tournament, although Bayern are not willing to negotiate his departure.
Olise, whose contract with Bayern runs until 2029, is reportedly eager to continue his career at the Santiago Bernabéu.
According to the report, fellow France international and Bayern defender Dayot Upamecano has attempted to convince the winger to remain in Munich.
Bayern president Herbert Hainer recently played down rumours of a possible transfer, insisting the German club have no intention of selling the attacker.
“Florentino Pérez can save himself the trouble of making an offer for Olise; we do not want to sell,” Hainer said.
Olise arrived at Bayern from Crystal Palace and has rapidly become one of the club’s standout attacking players.
The report further claimed that his potential arrival at Real Madrid could have implications for the club’s current squad, with Jude Bellingham and Vinicius Junior among the players whose futures have been the subject of speculation.
L’Équipe suggested that reports of a strained relationship between Bellingham and Kylian Mbappé, along with Vinicius’ unresolved contract negotiations, have contributed to rumours of possible exits. However, neither Real Madrid nor the players involved have confirmed those claims.
Real Madrid have not publicly responded to the reported interest in signing Olise.
