Super Eagles midfielder, Usman Mohammed, has sealed a return to Israeli Premier League side Maccabi Bnei Reineh after signing a two-year deal as a free agent.
The 32-year-old rejoined the club following the expiration of his contract with fellow Israeli club Ironi Tiberias.
Mohammed is making a return to familiar territory, having previously represented Maccabi Bnei Reineh from 2023 to 2025.
During his first spell, the experienced midfielder featured in 63 league matches and scored three goals, becoming an important figure in the club’s midfield.
His arrival is expected to add experience and depth to head coach Lior Reuven’s squad as Maccabi Bnei Reineh prepare for the upcoming Israeli Premier League season.
The former Taraba United star has built an extensive career across Europe and Asia since leaving Nigeria, earning a reputation for his calmness in possession, accurate distribution and tireless work rate.
At international level, Mohammed was a member of Nigeria’s U-23 team that won the bronze medal at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
He also featured for the Super Eagles at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
Maccabi Bnei Reineh will hope Mohammed’s familiarity with the club and wealth of experience will provide added stability and quality in midfield as they target another strong campaign in the 2026/27 season.
