NDPHC promises stable power supply to boost businesses

The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Niger Delta Power Holding Company, Jennifer Adighije, has restated the organisation’s drive to ensure more dependable electricity supply nationwide, stressing that consistent power remains central to business expansion and broader economic progress.

Speaking in a goodwill message to commemorate Democracy Day, Adighije highlighted the role of stable electricity in strengthening productivity, supporting industries and enhancing the benefits of democratic governance, according to The Punch.

She explained that access to uninterrupted power is vital for industrial growth, job creation and improved efficiency across different sectors, while also contributing to stronger and more sustainable communities.

“At NDPHC, we remain committed to delivering reliable electricity that drives industries, empowers communities, and fuels national progress,” Adighije said.

According to her, electricity should no longer be seen merely as a basic utility but as a major driver of economic advancement, noting that businesses depend heavily on steady supply to operate effectively and grow sustainably.

She also drew attention to the company’s Eligible Customer Programme, describing it as a targeted initiative designed to give large commercial and industrial users direct access to more reliable power supply.

“Our Eligible Customer Programme gives businesses reliable, predictable electricity so they can focus on scaling operations, not power outages,” she stated.

Adighije added that the scheme helps organisations reduce uncertainty around energy supply, cut down disruptions in operations and enhance their competitiveness through more stable electricity access.

Reaffirming the company’s broader mandate, she said NDPHC remains focused on supporting Nigeria’s economic transformation through key interventions in the power sector, noting that improved electricity access is essential for unlocking industrial potential and deepening economic growth.

She further called for stronger cooperation between government and private sector players to build a more resilient electricity market capable of meeting rising national demand.

According to her, reliable power remains a key enabler of manufacturing, trade expansion and employment generation, making programmes such as the Eligible Customer initiative crucial to national development goals.

The company noted that participants in the scheme would benefit from improved efficiency, lower energy-related costs and more reliable long-term supply.

It added that stable electricity would allow businesses to increase output, reduce losses caused by outages and reinvest savings into expansion, innovation and growth.

NDPHC also pointed to the Light Up Nigeria Project as another strategic intervention aimed at expanding access to electricity for productive users, strengthening industrial capacity and supporting sustainable economic development across the country.
