Anambra pastor arrested over alleged child trafficking, wife-snatching

Operatives of Agunechemba working with the Anambra State Government have arrested the Pastor-in-Charge of Day Spring Assembly, Awada, Onitsha, Pastor Harrison Charles, over alleged breaches of the state’s Homeland Security Law 2025.

The Punch reported that the cleric was accused of several offences, including alleged sexual misconduct, marrying underage girls, and allegedly taking the wives of some church members.

During the operation carried out on Friday, security operatives reportedly discovered about 11 babies in his custody, which he allegedly failed to properly account for.

His arrest followed the circulation of viral videos on social media containing multiple allegations against him.

Some of the videos featured alleged victims and accusers claiming that the pastor engaged in questionable practices within the church, including allegedly exchanging wives among members and taking some congregants’ wives for himself.

In one of the trending videos, an unidentified woman accused the cleric of several forms of misconduct, including allegedly interfering in marriages, marrying about 75 wives, taking other men’s wives, marrying underage girls, and using charms to manipulate members.

The woman appealed to the Anambra State Government and security agencies to investigate the activities of the church.

“It’s important now that Governor Soludo is arresting fake pastors, to quickly launch an investigation into the church because a lot of evil is going on in the church.”
