Anambra gov vows justice for slain policemen, civilians

The Anambra State Government has pledged to track down the armed men responsible for the killing of two police officers and two civilians during a deadly ambush along the Amansea–Awa–Ufuma Road in Orumba North Local Government Area.

The Punch reported that the incident occurred on Sunday night when unidentified gunmen attacked a convoy conveying officials returning from an assignment.

The convoy included Chief Ben Nwankwo, Chief of Staff to Governor Chukwuma Soludo, who had represented the governor at an official event before heading back to Awka.

Security sources and eyewitnesses said the attackers, who had reportedly positioned themselves in nearby bushes, opened fire on the convoy as it approached the area.
