Harrison Reed of Fulham has won the 2025/26 Guinness Goal of the Season award following his stunning late equaliser against Liverpool in January.
The Fulham midfielder produced a spectacular long-range finish deep into stoppage time to secure a dramatic 2-2 draw at home.
Liverpool appeared set to claim victory after Cody Gakpo fired the visitors into a 2-1 lead just minutes earlier. However, Reed responded in sensational fashion in the seventh minute of added time.
Spotting space from around 30 yards, the English midfielder unleashed a powerful strike that flew into the top corner beyond goalkeeper Alisson Becker, sparking wild celebrations among the home fans.
The goal marked Reed’s first since scoring against Everton in April 2023 — a wait of 995 days.
“A huge thank you to everyone that voted for my goal,” Reed said on Fulham’s website.
“There were some incredible goals scored this season, so to win this award feels like an amazing achievement.”
The award was decided through a combination of public votes and selections from a panel of football experts.
Reed’s strike finished ahead of all the campaign’s Guinness Goal of the Month winners, as well as a nominated effort from Valentin Castellanos of West Ham United.
Reed is now the first Fulham player to claim the Goal of the Season prize and only the second English player to do so after Andros Townsend, who won it in the 2018/19 season for his memorable volley against Manchester City.
