Fulham reportedly reject Chukwueze permanent deal

Fulham have decided against signing Nigerian winger Samuel Chukwueze on a permanent basis from AC Milan following the expiration of his loan spell.

The Premier League side had secured the services of the Nigeria international on a season-long loan last summer, with an option to complete a permanent transfer valued at €24 million.

However, according to reports from Tuttomercato, Fulham have now opted not to trigger the clause, meaning Chukwueze will head back to San Siro ahead of the new season.

Earlier reports had suggested the London club were prepared to meet the asking price to retain the winger permanently after his performances during the campaign.

The 27-year-old registered three goals and four assists across all competitions for Fulham during the 2025/26 season.

Tough Spell At Milan
Chukwueze joined AC Milan from Spanish outfit Villarreal CF in 2023 but struggled to establish himself consistently at the club before his temporary move to England.

The former Nigeria youth international managed just four goals in 51 Serie A appearances for the Rossoneri.

Future Remains Unclear
The winger’s future at AC Milan is now uncertain, especially with the Italian giants preparing for another managerial overhaul ahead of the new campaign.

Chukwueze still has two years remaining on his current contract with the Serie A side.

AC Milan endured a disappointing 2025/26 season, finishing fifth in Serie A and failing to qualify for next season’s UEFA Champions League.

The poor campaign reportedly led to major restructuring within the club, including the departure of manager Massimiliano Allegri and several key figures in the club’s hierarchy.

Reports also claim former AFC Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola has emerged as the leading candidate to take charge at AC Milan.
