Guardiola hails Arsenal after EPL title win

Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola, has congratulated Arsenal F.C. on winning the 2025–2026 Premier League title.

Arsenal were confirmed champions after Manchester City were held to a 1–1 draw away to Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium on Tuesday night, a result that made it mathematically impossible for the defending side to catch up.

The newly crowned FA Cup winners needed all three points against the Cherries to keep the title race alive heading into the final day of the season.

Guardiola’s side have now gone two consecutive seasons without winning the league, marking the first time the Spaniard has experienced such a run in his managerial career.

Reacting after the draw, Guardiola, quoted on Mirror, said “Congratulations to Mikel, congratulations to Arsenal, they have been phenomenal.

“We were close. On behalf of everyone at Manchester City, we congratulate Mikel and all the staff, players and fans on winning the Premier League. They deserve it.”

On reports that he would leave City at the end of the season, Guardiola added: “I have one more year of my contract. I will talk to the chairman at the end of the season.
