Liverpool boss Slot dismisses sacking rumours after Aston Villa loss

Arne Slot has dismissed speculation over his future at Liverpool, insisting he has no reason to believe he will be sacked despite a difficult run of results.

The Dutch coach spoke after the Reds’ 4-2 defeat to Aston Villa in Friday’s Premier League clash, a result that has intensified scrutiny on the team’s form.

Speaking to the BBC, Slot moved to shut down suggestions about his job security.

“It’s not about me it’s about us being disappointed with the result. I spoke yesterday on it and that’s enough,” he said.

“Our focus is on the Brentford game and making sure we earn the support of the fans by starting the game aggressive and well.

“The culmination of the fan support and a good performance will lead us to what we want to achieve and that is qualifying for the Champions League.”

Liverpool now turn their attention to their next fixture against Brentford as they aim to recover and strengthen their push for a UEFA Champions League qualification spot.
